Terms of Use

These terms apply to use of Reedley Residents Directory. The service is a private reference to Fresno County and California record custodians, public portals, and local history collections. By using it, a reader accepts these terms. Anyone who does not accept them should leave the service and contact the responsible custodian directly.

1. The Service in Plain Terms

Reedley Residents Directory describes and links to rolls, record indexes, and directory collections concerning Reedley, Fresno County, and California. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with Reedley City Hall, Fresno County, any court, the Recorder, the Assessor, a library, or another records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the service only in a lawful and respectful way. You may not use the service or information reached through it to:

  • stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person;
  • locate someone shielded by a restraining or protective order;
  • commit fraud, identity theft, impersonation, or another offense;
  • make a decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions;
  • scrape, republish, or copy the pages at scale; or
  • interfere with service security or availability.

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency

Reedley Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Nothing on the service, and nothing returned by a linked search provider, is a consumer report. No result may be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. External Portals and Providers

Government portals, libraries, archives, sponsored search tools, and other linked services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Reedley Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, fees, security, results, or data practices. A link is supplied for reference and does not create an agency relationship.

5. No Warranties

The service is supplied “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a page, link, fee, coverage year, portal, search result, or contact detail is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. Verify an important fact with the responsible Fresno County, California, city, court, library, or archive custodian.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar loss arising from use of the service or a linked resource. This includes a decision made from an index, directory, map, public record, sponsored result, or other information reached through the service.

7. Your Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, losses, costs, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from misuse of the service, unlawful use of information, or breach of these terms.

8. Copyright and Site Material

The original writing, layout, logo, and design belong to the service operators or their licensors. A reader may link to a page and quote a short excerpt with attribution. Full-page republication, systematic copying, and large-scale scraping are not permitted without written permission.

9. Changes to These Terms

The operators may revise these terms by posting a new version. Continued use after a revision means the reader accepts the updated wording. A material legal or service change may also be noted on the relevant page.

10. Restricting Access

The operators may block, limit, or end access for a person who violates these terms, abuses the service, threatens others, or interferes with operations. Access can be restricted without advance notice where needed to protect the service or another person.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms, without applying conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act is codified in Government Code Division 10, §7920.000 et seq.; it controls requests to public agencies, not the operators of this private reference. California’s Consumer Privacy Act appears in Civil Code §1798.100 et seq. and applies only as its coverage requires.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The invalid provision should be narrowed only as much as needed to make the rest lawful and workable.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms can be sent through the Contact page. Questions about a Fresno County record, court file, voter product, or Reedley municipal record must go to the office that keeps it.
